About the Company
- With more than 58 years of experience in the sector, Grupo Alta has become one of the leading Volkswagen light vehicle dealership networks in the city of São Paulo.
- In 2023, it opened its first GWM store, following its appointment in 2022.
About the Buyer
- Resulting from a corporate reorganization of Grupo JSL, Simpar is a holding company that controls a group of seven independent companies with more than 32,000 employees.
- Automob is Simpar’s subsidiary in the light vehicle segment, formed through the combination of the Original, UAB, Sagamar, Autostar, Green, and Quality dealership networks. It represents more than 26 light vehicle brands and four motorcycle brands, and also provides vehicle armoring services.
Transaction Rationale
- Expands Automob’s presence in the light vehicle dealership segment through the addition of six stores in São Paulo: Saúde, Ipiranga, Santana, Morumbi, and Moema/Ibirapuera.
- Together with the existing stores, Automob’s portfolio will total 18 Volkswagen stores and five GWM stores.
- Strengthens Automob’s commercial alliance with Volkswagen and GWM.
- Automob maintains Grupo Alta’s management independence and benefits from the extensive experience of the professionals joining the group.
Transaction Highlights
- The transaction adds R$589 million to Automob’s gross revenue, reaching R$7.4 billion based on annualized second-quarter 2023 figures.
- With the transaction, Automob reaches 97 stores, located across 18 cities, with a portfolio of 26 brands.
